Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine to showcase upcoming releases. On this glorious Wednesday, which happened to be my first day of school, I'm waiting for Stone Cold Touch by Jennifer L. Armentrout, the second book in the Dark Elements trilogy. It's about gargoyles, and that's a pretty funky fantasy thing- I mean, we don't see that too often- do we? But, like JLA's other books, the first book in the series, White Hot Kiss, was amazing. I stayed awake on a school night, at 5:00 am reading it, as well as the novella for the series. It was that good. I'm so stoked for this to come out on October 21, 2014.
Every touch has its price
Layla Shaw is trying to pick up the pieces of her shattered life—no easy task for a seventeen-year-old who's pretty sure things can't get worse. Her impossibly gorgeous best friend, Zayne, is forever off-limits thanks to the mysterious powers of her soul-stealing kiss. The Warden clan that has always protected her is suddenly keeping dangerous secrets. And she can barely think about Roth, the wickedly hot demon prince who understood her in ways no one else could.
But sometimes rock bottom is only the beginning. Because suddenly Layla's powers begin to evolve, and she's offered a tantalizing taste of what has always been forbidden. Then, when she least expects it, Roth returns, bringing news that could change her world forever. She's finally getting what she always wanted, but with hell literally breaking loose and the body count adding up, the price may be higher than Layla is willing to pay….
Okay, the first worry I have, is that Layla's going to be stringing along Zayne, when she still loves Roth. The dude on the cover looks nothing like the dude on the White Hot Kiss cover. Then again, the girls on the covers aren't the same either. So maybe that's not the case. I loved Roth, and I did not love Zayne, so that better not happen. I'm hoping the reunion with Roth and Layla is going to be hot. I'm hoping for a happy ending.
Well, that's my WoW for this week. Feel free to link up your WoWs in the comments, and I'll go check em' out. Happy Wednesday, and I'll talk to you next time.
